Our mission

We are an English language playschool. Our main aim is to introduce children to the world of English as naturally as possible so that it becomes a part of their daily life.

The children arriving at the playschool, from their first “Hello” to the last “Good bye”, learn and play in English under the supervision of our friendly qualified English speaking staff.

All games, songs and rhymes, learning activities and daily routines happen in English. We have fun with English painting, drawing and dancing as well as reading, writing and counting.

Daily contact with non-Polish speaking native speakers allows children to explore the phrases and usage of natural English just like they would in a bilingual family.

Recently we have added Spanish to our rich offer of language learning. Lessons are run by Maria Rodriguez, a born Cubana, who will take the children through the world of Spanish as an experienced teacher and music lover.

Program

Apart from the English language programme, we also fulfil the requirements of the Polish national curriculum by simultaneously running a Polish language programme approved by the Ministry of Education and Sport. Every year, the teaching staff prepares a new plan and selects an appropriate set of textbooks for each age group.

Our teachers also base their work with the children on a programme they have created as a team. Its main objective is above all to support the children’s emotional development and form their personality by stimulating their cognitive awareness and curiosity, their need to discover their values, life aims and their own place in the world. Working on their programme, our team of teachers chose the following motto:

If I Could Raise My Children Over Again

If I had to raise my child all over again, I’d build their self-esteem first, and only later their house later.
I’d finger paint more, and point my finger less.
I’d do less correcting, and more connecting.
I’d take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.
I would care to know less, and know to care more.
I’d take more hikes and fly more kites.
I’d stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars.
I’d do more hugging, and less tugging.
I’d see the oak treein the acorn more often.

Diane Loomans „If I Had My Child to Raise Over Again”

All English and Polish language activities at The Treehouse conform to the directives of the Warsaw Kuratorium.

Our team

Our team’s interest is not only in teaching and childcare. We believe that if if we are to bring up happy people, we have to do a little more. This is why every day we drive to inspire, awaken passion and develop the talent of the young people with whom we work.

Our teachers are a trusted team of young and experienced professionals who have been with us for many years. Work with children is their passion, so they happily supplement their teaching qualifications with further training to be ever more effective at identifying and bringing out the possibilities in children. Their daily work is about supporting the children in their cognitive development, helping them to be creative and independent. Special attention is paid to each and every child’s individual needs.

Thanks to their sensitivity, warmth and patience they bring together all the children, and thanks to their professionalism they build trust among the parents. Our team makes sure that each day at the Treehouse is another new, fascinating and valuable childhood adventure.

Organization

Work time

The playschool is open Monday to Friday from 7.00 till 18.00. We work all year round.

In July and August, we expect warm and sunny weather and our focus is on involving children in open-air fun and games. A variety of light educational activities in our garden allow children to enjoy the summer atmosphere and get into the rhythm of playschool daily life.

Every year, in the second half of August The Treehouse welcomes the new children of the year. For the last two weeks of August our newcomers, assisted by their parents or baby-sitters, can gradually get used to The Treehouse, making first friends and getting to know the playschool rules, so that in the first days of September it is easier for them to wave goodbye to their parents and get into having fun and learning at the playschool fun.

Meals

We care about the health of the children in our care, so we provide them with four nutritious, balanced meals a day cooked on the spot in our own kitchen:

– breakfast (porridge, a choice of cereals, sandwiches with smoked meats, cheeses, egg and seasonal vegetables), fruit tea

– lunch of two courses ( soup, meat or vegetarian second course, cooked or uncooked vegetables), fruit tea, juice, water

– first and second tea (sandwiches, toasted sandwiches, home-baked cake, yoghurts, fruit and vegetables) fruit tea, juice, water

The children get fresh fruit and vegetables every day and are encouraged to try new kinds of food.

Events calendar

The Treehouse calendar is full of festivities and celebrations. Every year we gather to enjoy Christmas, Easter, Grandparents’ Day, Mother’s and Father’s Days and International Day of the Child. For each of the events our children work very hard to prepare their performances in both English and Polish. All parents, grandparents and teachers are warmly invited to participate!

Every month the children enjoy a variety of special activities: outings, theatre, fancy dress balls, science workshops with Mad Scientist, visits of interesting animals and meetings with artists.

We close the year with a grand family garden party.
